Ezekiel Bread??

Options

I am confused about whether it's okay to eat Ezekiel bread. I am trying to find a bread substitute.  I see that a lot of women on this board say it's good. The Ezekiel bread I found at my store had soybean flour as one of the ingredients. Is it available without soybean flour?  Aren't women with ER/PR BC supposed to avoid all soy ingredients?  I have been eating whole grain Indian flat bread (Roti) which I make at home 2 -3 times a week. The flour I buy lists the ingredients as whole grain wheat flour. Still not sure if I am eating too much wheat.

I have cut down drastically on dairy. Before BC I loved my dairy. Always drank fat free organic milk, but did enjoy frozen Greek yoghurt. Ben and Jerry's frozen Greek yoghurts were my favorite. I love dark chocolate and now don't eat it all.  I am eliminated all that totally. I just feel it's such a crap shoot :( I have always had everything in moderation, maintained a very healthy weight, BMI, never been overweight my entire life, always worked out and still got breast cancer. I just hope all my new diet changes do help me in the long run. I know I am not alone as all you wonderful ladies face the same uncertainties :(

I am trying hard not to stress about so much. Sorry for the long rant.

I just finished AC and am starting weekly taxols Jan 10th.

Stage 1, grade 3, ER/PR positive, oncotype 26.

Thanks!

gary null gave a reciepe years ago for ezekiel bread.  you need a stove with a central pilot light.  grind up(?) sprouts form into a patty & cook slowly over the pilot light.  also need no mice.  I've never been able to have any of these elements

    Hi Septmom,

I am in the same boat trying to find a bread substitute since my biggest issue with my cancer-fighting diet of mostly raw vegan excludes bread - but its my biggest weakness!  I found Udi's actually tastes good toasted but is a bit small for sandwiches, but still can work. http://udisglutenfree.com/  I find it in the freezer section of Whole Foods.

I do have Ezekial in my freezer as a "once in a while" because of the soy. My Onc says that if soy is not in the first 5 ingredients, then I shouldn't worry about it. That is the rule I use to help me out with breads (even though I know I am not supposed to be eating bread as they are technically "processed" foods).

I cut diary comletely except for the Budwig FO/CC smoothieI have for breakfast. (the chemical reaction by combining the Flaxseed oil and cottage cheese, which is rich in sulfur protein, makes the oil water soluble and easily absorbed into the cell membrane).
