Hi, just began reading everyone's experience and found it so helpful that I decided to join and share my own.  I was diagnosed the beginning of October, 2013 and had a double mastectomy Oct 24.  Expanders are in and have completed the fill. I'm starting the road to chemo on January 6th, with the 6 treatment regiment. After reading so many of your experience's, I feel I'm equipped for battle. I'm going to CVS to buy the Claritan, Benedryl, Biotene, Ginger capsules, etc.  It has been re-assuring knowing what to expect, it takes the edge off.

I'm the only one of all my friends with breast cancer, so there isn't anyone I can compare notes with.  Having found this site and reading what everyone wrote, has been a blessing.

Wishing everyone a Healthy, Happy New Year

Welcome to BCO!  I'm glad you've found us, although I'm so sorry you have reason to be here.

These boards can be especially slow over the weekend, and even more so during the holidays.  So don't worry if you don't get much response to your first post.

Since you're starting chemo soon, be sure to check the main Chemotherapy section (look in All Topics) to see if there's a January chemo group starting up.  Joining will give you so much support for going through chemo.  And it's great that you're planning ahead and will have all those comfort aids on hand.  I put mine in a pretty little basket that helped me feel prepared for anything!

Good luck, and let us know if you have any specific questions we can help you with!   (((Hugs)))  Deanna
