I am so sorry that chemo hasn't worked for you so far. I send you (((hugs))) and wish I could do more. You have every right to feel scared. Have you checked in with the stage IV threads, as there is a lot of good information on them and a lot of wise and wonderful ladies on them.

Hi there!  OK, mom had breast, lung, liver, cancer and she used herbs the first nine months before any chemo and changed her diet.  If you would like to try some natural things I would suggest on what mom took and what I take now to prevent.  Turmeric, an Indian spice, (not good for cancer cells), Astragalus, Wild Oregano, applecider vinegar 1 tbl to 16 to 20 oz water every day with honey 1 tbl.

When all else fails prayer, faith, and herbs God's natural remedies, should be given a try, in My opinion based on what we have used.  Read up and these items, coconut oil is also very good....

heartbroken - I am so sorry that you are going through this. I am not stage IV myself and do not know your diagnosis, but I do know from reading the stage IV threads that a different treatment often works when one stops working. I would try starting a thread in that forum - we would all like to give you all the support that we can, but they are the ones who will be best able to do it.

    Many, many hugs.

rafitamia - there is a thread for alternative treatment, it's probably best to keep your posts about them there. Somebody who has had cancer for nine years has been told about alternative treatments too many times to count.

    Heartbroken,

I am so sorry the chemo failed. I am similar to you in that I am on year 12 fighting this disease and my last chemo of Xeloda just failed. I am now on Abraxane.

My suggestion to you is to keep bugging your onc about treatments and trials. I even research my own and bring them to the doctor to see if it will work. I am 48 and have grandbabies on the way with children getting married and more life to live; so I am going to exhaust every single option. So look up trials or drugs you have not already had. Doing this also helps to try to take back a little control with being proactive.

I will keep watching your posts and if there is anything I can do please let me know. God bless you sweetie and keep fighting. Xo

@heartbroken, I am in almost the same situation. I have had three treatments--2 AI's and then weekly taxol--in 8 months and none of them have stopped progression. I don't have any suggestions that haven't already been made, just a  ((hug)). I hope your next treatment works better.
