Truncal lymphedema and fever, Tylenol?
Complete Decongestive Therapy , started this week, was suppose to go tomorrow for 3rd session, but now coughing, head ache, and fever.
Some people say take Tylonal, some say no fever is fighting infection.
My usual temp with these digital things is usually only 97, some times even 96, now it is 101.
thank you for prayers!

Take the acetaminophen - it will also help ease the aches and make it more comfortable to rest. Did you get a flu shot this year? We are hearing reports of the influenza season starting earlier than normal.
Call the clinic before you go in: they may not want your virus spread around! Hydrate well and get better soon.

I took the acetaminophen. I did not get the flu shot. Everyone I know who has got this years shot says it made them so sick they regretted getting it. I called and told them I was not going to take the chance of bringing anyone germs. Thank you vlnrph!

Have you called your PC, MO, or surgeon? All of my Drs were emphatic that I was to call them IF my temperature reached 101. If you are coming down with flu, TamiFlu (sp?) if started quickly it does great things.
I got my flu shot and had no reaction at all - not even tender at injection site. Hubby got his with no problems either. No one I know who got theirs have had any problems either. I have always been told that with todays killed virus vaccine if you develope 'sickness' quickly after the injection then you were already coming down with the flu and it was flu making you sick - not the vaccine.

I started spitting up yuky thick stuff with some pink color, so I called PC. He said it sounds like a chest infection. He said he would call me in a prescription for antibiotic. He said it would take a little while. It has been 2 hours, they do not have yet, but I can not get a hold of my friend who I am hoping can pick it up.
I have my first paper cut on thumb on side missing some lymph nodes. -
vaper, I do hope you have the prescription by now, and that your friend was able to pick it up for you. The antibiotic should help keep that paper cut from causing you grief, too--just keep it clean and covered with a topical antibiotic and a bandaid. Then don't worry about it. Rest up, stay well hydrated--get well!
And please do keep us posted as you're able. Gentle hugs,
Binney -
You can certainly get a bacterial infection on top of (or sequential to) something viral. Be sure to take the antibiotic for the full number of days prescribed!

Thank you everyone! I got antibiotic and only side effect so far is anxiety! I hate trying to figure out what meds are safe for me to take with being a very slow metabolizer of so many! And Pharmacists not knowing much, and drug companies still not putting in the insert how the drug is metabolized!
