Neutropenia

I had an appointment with my onc and also lab work.  My WBCs are low.  They have been low and steadily dropping since one month after my last chemotherapy on May 29th.  Onc said I am am on the border of being neutropenic.   She wants more labs drawn in 2 weeks and again 2 weeks after that.  She said if it gets worse I will have to monitor my temperature and if I get a fever I will need to call and "we'll have to deal with it."  What does all this mean?

Thanks for the link Mods. I guess I'm am wondering why this happening.  It's been 7 mo. Since my last chemo.  Should it be low and getting lower for this long?
