All set to go...

Thank you, ladies, for all your answers and all your support.  I've had such mixed feelings about this.  Over-treatment, fear of the unknown, etc., etc.  The great thing about this forum is that all of the questions and feelings I could not have asked the Drs. to take the time to handle have beeen handled, here.  I'm not pleased (who of us are?) about going through this process, but without this forum, I'd have been lost.  From concerns about appearence to references to medical studies, to Beesie (who's remarkable), this has been a life-saver.  Because of you-all, I feel I've really done my "research" on this subject.  So.  Lumpectomy in 2 days, Wed.  Am prepared, and will let you know how it goes. - P.

Percy, we'll be thinking of you, and wishing you the best as you take this next, well-researched step.

Best wishes, Percy. I am thinking that you are probably very well prepared and have a boatload of women here pulling for you.

I have to say one more thing.  I feel safe here.  Women who have had much more dire diagnoses than me (so far) have taken the time to address my small concerns.  Never a  word about being "grateful" for what I don't (yet) have. That was hard for me, to ask what may seem like silly, vain questions.  But to be received with such love and respect.  Wow.

    Percy, first, thank you!

And second, you'll do great. Hopefully you'll have a really easy time with the surgery and the healing - most people find it to be easier than they expect - but even if you do have some problems, they are short-term, and you'll get through it. Hopefully too the pathology report provides no surprises and no new news, except good news.

Good luck tomorrow, and wishing you a quick and easy recovery. And (((Hugs)))!
