What date do you all use for your cancerversary?

I use the date I was diagnosed. Some people use the date they finished treatment.

I'd go by what your onc considers your cancerversary since that's what they use to count how many years you are out.

Mine goes by dx date, which is my mom's birth date so very easy to remember.

I did neoadjuvant treatment and I start from the date of my surgery. Scanned last week and now nearly three years NED.

Wow lkc, that is fantastic news! Keep doing whatever you are doing (including the wine 🍷). I have included the vino in my after treatment plan as well. I'm at 10+ years, so maybe we are on to something .

Congrats to IKC and CK55 on doing soooo well!! Happy Dance!! To answer the question above I go by DX date, but my MO counts my starting to use the ALs for my five year anniversary.

ALWAYS so delighted to see a post of yours, Linda (lkc) and you, too, CK55. Makes me all the more optimistic for a continuation of a wonderful full life. Would love to see posts like these from more Her2+, -er -pr stage 3---the more positive news the better I feel.

Eleven years ago today I was diagnosed. Breastcancer.org was my lifeline while I was going through treatment. I still recommend this site to those newly diagnosed. The only time I come here now is on my cancerversary to let others know that life is good. The only reminder of my cancer is the neuropathy in my feet, and it is just a nuisance, not a big problem. Hang in there, the future is waiting for you.

Just hopping in to post my eleven-year cancerversary which I celebrated April 28th (it happened to fall on a Friday again). So happy to be able to share this with my stage III sisters - I was hungry for this kind of story when I was a newbie too!

I, too, was hungry for stories like DATO's, back 14 years ago, and there weren't any. Sugarplum's word "hungry" is just right.

What is very cool is, I just realized survivors like Sugar Plum, IKC, Yatcomw--WE ARE THE STORY now.

Looking forward to my rather lonely "15 years and out" thread getting filled up in the next couple of years....

hi ladies. Writing on here to thank you all for sharing your encouraging stories. When my mom was diagnosed I thought my life was ending but positivity and prayer go along way.

I am so beyond happy for all of you who have reached that 10 year mark, though every milestone is an accomplishment.

For the women on here who were concerned about there not being more 10+ yr survivors, I will say a lot of women have either forgotten or moved on and just don't write anymore. My grandmother had 3 sisters all of which were diagnosed in the 80's and were in the advanced stages. They battled like hell and not one of them passed from thins disease. Unfortunately they were all in their 80's so has no idea this website existed lol. But believe me surviors are amongs US everwhere

Coming back to let you all know I am celebrating 11 years cancer free today. Woke up at 5:00 AM with myanniversary on my mind. I started thinking about all that had happened in those 11 years that were not cancer related (both good and bad). I started crying because I was so grateful for all the things I had not missed.

Feeling very blessed. 🙏
