Wow, been three weeks now, so much pressure on chest, and underneath one arm, hypersensitive. Ouch, I should be getting back to normal...yes?

(((mcraig))) so sorry you are still painful...it's a major surgery, especially if you had reconstructions done? I had pain for 4 - 6 weeks after my BMX and swelling, mainly in the side where I had the nodes removed. I went to physical therapy to see a lymphadema specialist and to learn how to do manual massage to help with swelling but not until I was well healed, about 3 months after surgery. Everyone's body reacts differently to surgery. Still having pain and pressure and hypersensitivity just 3 weeks out from such major surgery is not unexpected.

The pain under your arm is from the node removal. This might last quite a bit longer than the pain in your breast arm. Also your underarm and arm might remain numb for some time - my arm was numb down to the elbow for about 3 or 4 months, and then it was another couple of months before the numbness in the underarm area went away. Another after effect of the SNB is that as your nerves start to regenerate, you might get sharp shooting pains in your underarm area and down your arm. I remember the first one being quite a shock, but fortunately the pain was very quick. Those pains are nothing to worry about.

Hope that your pain eases off soon. It's not fun but it doesn't sound as though what you are experiencing is at all abnormal, so try not to worry about it.
