Stage 4 roll call
Hello Moderators,
No complaint coming.
Just a thought that has been running through my head for a while.
In april The Divine Mrs M started a thread around how many of us were stage 4 at that time. It has had a consistent number of replies over the months. Many have been from women dx before April 2013 and DMM has put them on the roll. My concern is that there have been as many who have been dx since there and would like to be on that roll call to acknowledge their presence I think, and to be counted somewhere and hold their heads up with the rest of us who have made the list. It feels uncomfortable to me when those women get the reply that Mrs M is not adding them. It was never her intention I don't think to have it on going but it appears it may meet a real need these new women have to stand wit the the rest of us count too. It feels like we are slapping them in the face and saying they don't belong with us older ones. Never, never, the intention in the original post. Mrs M would be horrified to think that might be happening.
I was wondering how difficult it would be for there to be a thread for doing this on an ongoing basis as women feel they want to have their names added to a list like this one.
I was thinking it might need to be something the mods could offer and run. I know that in the beginning as women died there was a rose added to their name to acknowledge their absence. I can't find that part of the thread now.
Could a sticky be added to the top of the forum as we have for other important and meaningful threads. They are very helpful by the way.
It just bothers me when I read women saying they would like to be added and then other women saying it is not for them. We have enough of that rejection not allowing non stage 4 women to post in our forum and I can understand why, even if personally it doesn't bother me. But this seems a rejection to our own group of women when seriously we can't take any more feelings of being isolated from the rest of the world. I know it's not a major problem but it could mean a lot to those new women who are struggling to know where they belong.
A big thanks for considering if it could be done. Cost wise if there is anything that needed to be paid for I know you are sometimes asked about donations given in a special woman's name and how that could be used in an acknowledged way. This might be considered for that. Just thinking aloud now.
Thanks for reading and listening.
Happy Thanksgiving too.

moira. I agree. Be good to have a way for all to be welcome. This a hard, hard experience and can be very lonely. Be good to have a consistent place of welcome -
Moira, thank you for the suggestion! We'll run it by the whole team and consider options for implementing a list. Any member could start and maintain a list like this - as Celia does with the Angels list, and MrsM did with the How Many Are We list, but we'll look at other options too.
BTW, the white roses are still being added, but they're on the Five Questions thread (in the pinned Stage IV Important Links for Newbies thread).
