Hi everyone,

I'm a newly lumpectomy cancer patient. What do it mean when it says ER Positive but it says (intensity) Moderate, and PR Positive (intensity) High?

Hi, sloyd66 - Every cancer tumor has receptors on it... this determines how the cancer grows, and what feeds it.

BCO has a wonderful, large section of information for newly-diagnosed BC patients.

Here is the section on hormone receptor status:

Also, cancer cells have a gene called Her2, and this is generally positive or negative. I see by your stats that you are Her2/Neu negative. This section explains it in more detail:

(The thread you're on right now is for ladies who are Her2/Neu positive.)

Don't worry... you will start to become an expert in all these things. Just remember to take good notes when you meet with your doctors, and write down any questions you have before you go in for your appointment.

No matter what you have, there is someone here who has walked that path before you. We are all here to support you.

    Wishing you the best!
