Hello Ladies - has anyone heard of the Caris test that apparently looks at the molecular makeup of the tumor tissue and helps determine which chemo would work best. I have already started chemo dd AC 4 times with 12 weekly taxol. Someone asked me if I has the Caris test done. I wasn't able to find too much info on the web. I don't think I read about this in any of the threads here . Is this a new test? Have any if you had this test done. Did it influence which chemo was given? When I was told I need chemo my MO was telling me about a clinical trial I could participate in. I would randomly get selected for either 6 cycles of TC every 3 wks or dd AC 4 times followed by 12 weekly taxols. He was telling me how great a clinical trial is as I would get 'extra ' care. I didn't like the fact I would get randomized so didn't participate in the trial. My MO said he felt dd AC would be the best for my stage 1 grade 3 node neg Er positive 1.8 cm tumor. My oncotype was 26. I know he didn't do a Caris report on my tumor tissue. So am wondering if having the Caris report would have been beneficial . I have already started so I hope the dd AC with taxol helps with preventing a reoccurrence. Thanks!
