Hi, I have DCIS and have had a mastectomy and am at home recovering, while at home I have started to write a blog on my experiences. It's all a bit all over the place at the moment as I just write what I am feeling at the time but may be of Interest to any ladies going through the same thing

    The link doesn't work for me.....but anyways, I will try later. I was wondering if you noticed or have heard of nipple discharge that is black? clogged duct, dilated duct and ductal ectasia all ruled out. I have no lumps or infections and no endocrine disorders. I have gone through several tests to rule these things out. Now Iam waiting on breast MRI......

    I had discharge & bleeding from my nipple for ages, I kept saying I would go get it checked out but didn't fir ages. When I did they only did an ultrasound not a mammogram, this annoyed me as DCIS isn't shown on an ultrasound do I think they should have done a mammogram straight away. The ultrasound showed I had inflamed milk ducts and I was them told to wait 3 months and come back!! 3 months later it was no better so I returned, they then said there was operation they could do that removed the ducts to Stop the bleeding? At this point there was no mention of BC or DCIS at all. I had the operation which was just day surgery, nothing major and them sent home to rest. That was in August. The next thing I got a phone call asking me to return for results and that's when they said I had DCIS.


    I hole everything goes ok with your results & will be thinking of you, there's nothing worse than waiting for results not knowing so hopefully you will have some answers soon.
