Hi there! My name is Catherine and I'm a 22 year old primary school teacher in Australia.

For as long as I can remember, my life has always been affected by cancer. Not me personally, but throughout my life someone I know, love and care about - or someone my friend's know, love and care about - have had their lives changed by cancer.

More so as a teacher, there are too many cases of a student going through tough times at home because of cancer.

And it hurts. It makes me sad to see other I love hurting.

So next year, my best friend and I are taking a chance and making a change! We're embarking on a 60 kilometer walk in an effort to raise money and awareness for cancer research.

My best friend is a nurse so knows all too well the impact cancer has on so many lives. So we're teaming up our super caring personalities and using our healthy and blessed lives to do something positive!

The campaign is largely aimed at women's cancer, but let's be honest - we want to stop all kinds of cancer.

Meanwhile, my best friend and I will be training our legs into oblivion, creating craft items to sell at markets, organising morning teas and creating delicious baked goods. All this to start an important conversation about cancer and let the people in our lives know that we're here to make a positive change!
