Tummy tuck with reconstruction...did anyone request this?
I was large breasted before my BMX ( more than I wanted) but it seemed to compensate for my "mommy belly". I have no desire to be that large again...I want to be a C cup which the PS says my expanders have me at now. When I look at my side view all I see is my belly sticking out. I'm 5ft almost 1 inch and no amount of diet and exercise will equalize this...if it does I'll still have a fat apron. I was not a canidate for the tram flap or any flap so I asked the PS if it was possible to get a mini tuck when he does the implants...will insurance allow it during the same surgery. He thinks it will and suggested I wait til nipple recon and he can use the tissue for the nipple. Has anyone experienced this?

I didn't have a tummy tuck but when I had my areolas and nipples done my surgeon used skin from my stomach at my C-section scar to graft areolas. He removed 4 cm of skin! That worked for me! I am not that big of a person and I had a 10 lb baby so my stomach really stretched out. This was all covered since he was using the skin for skin grafts. -
thanks mdg. I figure I will have to pay part of it but I just do not feel like myself and for sure do not want to go thru bigger breasts to get myself back. I may adjust to this new me and be ok with it all. My first outing led to hours of crying though and I and just starting to feel the impact of the BMX on my body image. Happy to be alive and that the DCIS had not spread for sure.. I don't want to minimize that in any way but I still feel the impact mentally. -
My PS said he will do a mini tuck when he'll reconstruct the areolas/nipples. It seems to be a common thing and it's covered by insurance as part of reconstruction. -
I had my BX on 9/26 beatrice00 I see yours was 9/30...when are you scheduled for implants? My PS did my last fill today and said come back in 2 months and we'll talk dates. -
My exchange is scheduled for February 27, 2014. I have three fills left. The doctor said to schedule the date already because he books fast. The nipples will be done six months later if everything goes ok. You'll probably end up having a February surgery as well. -
yes I'm hoping for Feb as he scheduled me for the 1st wk in Feb to come in and talk. I know this last fill has made me miserable....my muscles are in a constant spasm.w
