hello

I have had lymphedema in my left hand arm and chest wall. I had a dmx in Jan, then a hemotoma surg in March serious infection and TE removal of right in April. The LE was discover at that point then had the gummy gel implants put in in July. I have been working with a LE PT since April

The LE is also in my chest wall. This weekend in the shower I realized that my left groin node is very enlarged. Has anyone experience the LE taking over a whole side?

I see my LE PT tomorrow but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.

Thanks

sheaj, it can happen, and a few women on these boards can attest to that. A few studies in recent years suggest that we may have a genetic tendency to develop lymphedema, and other studies suggest that even secondary LE is a systematic condition. You might ask the PT if he or she has any experience treating primary lymphedema, and therefore understands how to take a systematic treatment approach. Also, be sure to check for non-lymphedema causes of that enlarged node. Hopefully it's something simple and not lymphedema at all.
