paget's?

I'm 6 years out from IDC stage 1, grade 2, ER<PR positive, partial mastectomy and radiation. Now I've discovered darkened, rough, scaly areola (same breast). Does anyone know if there is a relationship between the two?

    Every winter, the nipple on my lumpectomy side gets incredibly itchy. I was worried about Paget's, too. SO checked it out -- dx is late effects from radiation on that side. (I remember that the radiologist mentioned possible permanent skin & texture changes.) I now use extra body lotion in winter & occasionally cortisone cream there, which seems to help.


    I haven't heard of any connection between IDC & Paget's -- I think the SO said there wasn't any.

    I had a mammo and ultrasound. Got a letter today stating that I should do another mammo in six months because of a "finding that is probably benign." Shit!
