I was recently diagnosed with a 5mm IDC and was told grade 2.

fora second opinion I the pathologist said grade 3 on parts.

Has anyone dealt with a grade 3 and what were the results.

Mine was IDC grade 3 - or 9 out of 9 on the badness scale (I think the right term is Nottingham scale) for quickly dividing hooligan cells. In a huge tumor. Yet here I am doing just fine 5 yrs later.....don't worry too much, please. But, you might be checked closely by clinical exam every so many months for signs of recurrence, as i was.

BC300- I too had Grade 3, triple negative with 2 IDC tumors and extensive Ductal Carcinoma In Situ. I am still here and well 3 years later! Do you know what your ER/PR and Her2 status is?

    I had grade 3, triple positive (Er+ Pr+ Her2+) -- still happy & healthy NINE years later!

I had a lumpectomy -- and also had to have additional surgery to get wider margins, and further lymph node dissection (four out of five sentinel nodes showed cancer cells).

BC300, you can also read more about Cell Grade in the section at the link. It's from the main Breastcancer.org site, and part of the detailed explanation of the terms found in a pathology report.

I had grade 3. Good news is that chemo works best on grade 3. I'm three years out this month since diagnosis and I'm doing well!
