Raised white patch in chest- possible skin recurrence?

I had a mastectomy 3 years ago with no reconstruction. In the past week I have noticed a small white patch of raised thicker skin on my chest near (but not on) my mastectomy scar. It is a different texture than the rest of my chest skin.It is about 1cm in diameter. Did any of you have your local recurrence show up this way?

mom2threegirlz, until other members come along to post with their experiences, your can read more about Local recurrence after mastectomy in our main site. Anyway, our recommendation is always to go get it checked by a doctor…

I had a re-occurence but it was red like ezema.  It grew and was irregular at doing so.  It was right along the scar.  Personally, I would get the biopsy.  The Dr.'s all told me the spots were not cancer (2 oncologists, plastic surgeon, and breast surgeon who deals with cancer patients only.  They were all wrong.  It most likely will not be cancer but until they do the biopsy they do not really know.   Peace of mind is completly worth the medical expense.

Hi I have found 3 thick white patches on my chest...did yours turn to be nothing? or a recurrence? Your post was quite while ago...I hope it was nothing. Please let me know if you see my post.
