Hello all. Thank you does not begin to describe how I feel having this board at my disposal. I am scheduled for a double MX in a week. I have another area of concern seen on MRI at the back of my breast close to chest wall that They think could be IDC. I am worried but staying positive. I am taking one step at a time. I am 45 years old and a Nurse ( we make the worst patients

I am wondering, is it typical to be sent home the eve of a double MX with tissue expanders in? I am hearing "outpatient" when I was called this morning and I used to take care of postMX patients in patient for 24-48 hour stays. I am a tough girl but a but worried about post-op nausea and pain. Thoughts? Thank you so much..

Probably not typical.  I had a single MX and spent the night and was released late the next aft.

I had bilateral mx with expanders and stayed 2nights. I had 4JP drains. I'm a nurse as well. Don't let them pull the line,"oh you're a nurse so you can take care of yourself". That's crazy!

TE placement by itself is outpatient. Perhaps someone coded it wrong. Id check. I had BMX 4 drains 2 days in hosp.

I just want to wish you the best with your surgery this week. Yay for staying positive! Outpatient surgery does not sound right though. I hope you got that all cleared up.
