question about radiation treatment

Options

I realize I am jumping the gun a bit as I have 3 more chemo treatments before I am to start radiation...but I find that I am gradually getting more tired with each treatment and I have been lucky to be off work during chemo. My last treatment of chemo is on 12/18/2013 so I figure I should be able to go back to work at the 1st of the year because that is when my disability runs out. I believe I will have to have radiation 5 days a week for 6 weeks. My job is pretty stressful and I was wondering how you all felt after chemo going into radiation...do you get any time off inbetween? It seems like most people work no problem. Any thought would be appreciated...Thanks.

I had a three (or was it four?) week break between the end of chemotherapy and the start of radiation.  I was feeling more myself - physically and emotionally - by then and found the radiation extremely easy compared to chemo.

I had a 2 week break between the end of chemo and rads. I was feeling good when I started rads and just finished today (yah!) No real fatigue to speak of except I fell asleep a little earlier every night - but felt fine during the day. Worked all the way through. Good luck - you'll be surprised how easy radiation is compared to chemo....it was for me anyway.

Had very little break between chemo and rads, I think about 1 week. Tired towards the end, but manageable. Worked throughout, but did go to sleep a bit earlier most evenings

    Be well

lovewins- I am doing my current rounds of chemo concurrent with rads and still working. I am tired all the time but find once I fight though actually getting out of bed and getting ready to leave the house that I feel much better once I'm out. I don't know how much of my fatigue is a chemo SE vs a rads SE but the main hassle of rads is the every day schedule, for me anyway. Oh, that and finding time to slather on creams and oils all day. Good luck with your treatments.

Thank you DeliriumPie...I am going for my 4th chemo treatment in 5 days and today I was so tired I could barely get out of bed. I need to work on being more positive that I can handle going back to work. Hope you are doing well...you are handling a lot! It frustrates me because I will have to use a lot of my vacation time for treatments.
