Last night I bandaged. Today the arm looks good but there is swelling at knuckles. What did I do wrong? also

During the day can I do an extra massage of just the hand or do I have to do the whole routine every time?

hand or do I have to do the whole routine every time?

Barb, do you wrap your fingers?

Unfortunately it's important to clear the nodes before doing MLD, and then to work the fluid toward the nodes, starting at the nearest point and moving down gradually to the hand. That way the nodes are ready to receive the fluid you're moving toward them, and each part of the arm is cleared before you move more fluid through it. That said, I do find it helps to gently do whatever part is flaring throughout the day--just feels better. If you have the Lebed DVD you might put that into your computer from time to time during the day and do the 15-minute opening. I find that really helps, and it doesn't mean having to remove garments and do the whole MLD routine.

Hope everything clears up quickly today. Keep us posted,

    Hugs,
    Binney

Perhaps you need to either increase (or decrease) the pressure level you are using in the knuckle area.  Too much or too lottle pressure/compression can make a big difference in how our body reacts.   For me - too much pressure/compression in hamd area is far worse than too low.  Remember we are each unique and there is no "one way works for ALL".
