can redness from IBC go away and come back several times?

Hi Everyone,


I Just fount out today that my mom has been having bouts of redness on the side of one breast. She told me that it comes and goes, and it has done this several times. She doesn't notice any swelling or dimpling. She want for a mammogram today and they couldn't find anything. They then did an ultrasound on the breast and found two masses. They are now going to do a biopsy in 5 days. My question for who ever reads this post is whether IBC redness can come and go away several times with no swelling, or dimpling or raised skin? Could the masses be an infection? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Worried son,


    I think your best bet is to wait for the biopsy. My redness did not go away, I had a lot of swelling, dimpling & was itchy. Hope your Mom's biopsies are negative and they find out exactly what's going on.
