Secondary liver cancer and now having appendix surgery

Hello All,

I am writing this for my wonderful Mum. She was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago and had a mastectomy and was cancer free. It has recently come back and spread to her liver. She went through a first round of chemo but it wasn't working so they have put her on a stronger dosage. Tonight, she had severe pains and found out she has acute appendicitis. She is being rushed into surgery. Has anyone else had to have surgery or this particular surgery while going through chemo? I am worried she wont have enough white blood cells to fight off any infection or just the strain of having surgery. I am soo soo soo worried about her I can barely breathe. If anyone out there has had to deal with this or gone through a surgery please let me know.
