MLD With Sleeves On or Off?

I was just wondering if you should do the MLD with or without sleeves on?


My partner Brian, does the MLD on my arms for me.


Today I was thinking his hands would slide better with the sleeves on, but don't know if that is the best for the MLD?


Brian also thought maybe the sleeves would wear out faster.


I would appreciate any help.

    Cinnamonsmiles- You have to do the MLD without your sleeves on. MLD works based on the stretch and relaxation of the skin. The compression from the sleeves will not allow your skin to be stretched so it would not increase lymph flow. My LE therapist had my husband come to one of my sessions. She showed him how to do MLD and he demonstrated back that he could do it. Unfortunately, that was the last time that he did! You're lucky that your partner is a willing participant!
