Newbie...My Mom just diagnosed...looking for info and support

My mom(72) was diagnosed Sept 30,2013, IDC, ER-/PR-,HER+3. Grade 3 7mm x 7mm x 6mm. PET scan shows no metastasis or lymph node involvement and breast surgeon says it appears that the biopsy itself got a very large portion of the tumor already. She is scheduled for surgery October 16th for lumpectomy and sentinal node biopsy. Chemo to follow will be Taxotere,Carbo(something..can't remember) and Herceptin followed by whole breast radiation. Breast surgeon, MedOncologist, RadiationOncologist, and Primary care physician are all predicting a very positive outcome. I don't mind admitting that I'm scared but optimistic at the same time and would love to hear from others with a similar diagnosis and how you were treated. I will say that I am very pleased with how quickly her doctors have detected, diagnosed, and developed a program of treatment for her. Does she just have fantastic doctors or do they usually react this quickly? Thanks for reading. I will most likely frequent here during the next year at a mimimum as she will be getting Herceptin for 1 yr.
