Here we go....a few years ago, I did a cochrane PUBMED search and it showed women who took vitamin C had better outcomes but women who took multivitamins actually had a worse prognosis. UGH...will this debate ever be settled.

    Thanks for posting.

Yeah - it's that time of the year where we get these "filler" articles being published during pink October. Next we all hold our breaths for "news" in December.

I'm assuming that by "Multivitamins" they mean the ones that include vitamins A, C, and E - all antioxidants.

My MO (Chief of Oncology, and a dedicated researcher) said to avoid ANY antioxidant supplements, as not only did they promote the growth of healthy tissue, there was now evidence that they promoted the growth of cancer cells.

(Can't remember the study, but one stated that antioxidants actually offset the benefit of some BC treatments.)

She told me to get all my nutritional needs from real foods, and save the supplements for Vitamin B complex,Calcium, D, and Magnesium.

But then again, I've read posts here on BCO, where others' MOs advised just the opposite.

the study, i believe, was the difference between a vitamin and a vitamin with minerals.
