Biopsy results....Still waiting not doing well.......

Options
Biopsy for swollen lymphnode October 1, 2013. Same side as BC diagnosed in 1995
1 cm tumour, lumpectomy chemo and rads

Everyday since this biopsy (2nd one in 16 months) has been a real struggle. Watching my phone at work waiting for my Dr.'s phone number to show up so I can have a panic attack. The driving home all the way wondering if there is a message flashing light waiting for me there. I am really not handling this waiting very well at all. I guess after all these years I had forgotten how terrified I can get. Other ladies on here are able to think things through and even want to know all the details of whats happening...that's not me:(

This kind of stress can't be good for you. Not able to eat or sleep, feeling very cold and shakey all the time and trying to be tough. I'm not. I think the fact that I had biopsy 16 months ago which was B9 and now have another issue is what keeps going through my mind. Have read alot of posts that seem to say more than 1 B9 after BC is not common.

Hope somebody has something to offer....going to be another long night.

thanks ladies,
Cindee

You sound like you're in agony over this. I'm so sorry you're having to wait so long for your results. Can you call the doctor to find out what the hold up is? And while you're on the phone with them, could you ask for some Xanax to help get you through the next few days? I tend to get very worked up waiting for results too but lately I try to focus on the fact that worrying doesn't change the outcome either way and it just makes me miserable(I wish I could say that I'm very successful with this approach but I do keep trying). Is there anything you really enjoy that you could do to take your mind off the waiting? Take a spontaneous trip? Retail therapy? Acupuncture? New hairstyle? Spa treatment? Movies? Silly magazines? Volunteer at a food bank or animal shelter? I've already had a couple of scares come back benign in the past few months so I'm going to choose to ignore what you heard about multiple benign biopsies after breast cancer. ; ). I will be checking back on you and please update us on your (hopefully benign) results soon.
