Hi everyone!

So I am new to this group and I am almost two years out from my last chemo treatment. I have been on Tamoxifen for almost two years now and am really feeling the baby fever. My husband and I were going to try and conceive our second child the year I was diagnosed. So needless to say we had to stop. I am currently 33 y/o and my hubby is 39, we really do not want to wait another 3 years to have a second child. I have recently seen reports that they now want people to take the Tamoxifen for 10 years versus 5. What I want to do is stop my tamoxifen and conceive then go back on. My onc asked us to wait until at least January to stop (that will be a few weeks after my two year anniversary). She then stated that I should wait about 3 months after stopping the meds to try and conceive to make sure it is out of my body. So here is where I need you lovely ladies. Has anyone been in a similar situation? I am worried that it may all be in vain since I have only had one period since starting the whole process and that was four months ago. Maybe my ovaries do not work anymore :(. I also cannot find much information on what risk factors of stopping the meds, getting pregnant (and filling my body with the same hormones that fed my cancer), carrying the baby then picking back up one the meds. Another worry I have is that I have lymphedema, it took me four months to get the swelling down enough to wear I do not have to wear compression 24 hours a day, will getting pregnant flare that up too? Please help put me at ease :)
