Glad to hear all went well Jeannie!
Enjoy your trip to Canada Movie!
I started my thyroid meds today, whoah am I a hot mess. Hopefully my nody will adjust in a week or two but the best part is no pain!!!!!! Cymbalta is working!
-
Sweetpickle, I like to hear good news from you. -
Sweet, I was a hot mess for a few weeks too...but SOOOOOO much better within a month that it's TOTALLY worth it. You got this!!!
I am on 75 mcg Synthroid. I take it first thing when I wake up and then no food or drink for an hour so that nothing interferes with absorption. They started me on 25 then 50 then 75 mcg so it took a bit to figure out how much I needed. Thinking of you!
-
TOWANDA Sweet!!!!!!! -
welcome home, Bailey! I had a similar experience with Synthroid. -
Sweet- That is good news!
Jeannie- my doc called that the pushin cushion/hooha! I had mine done too. Soooo much better. -
I had my FUPA taken care of, too, during stage 2b - no lipo, but pulled tight with abdominal scar revision. -
Yay, Sweet! Glad they got something figured out and you'll be turning the corner soon! Your Cymbalta kicked in quickly--great!
I kept some comparison photos of my face before I was diagnosed with hypothyroid, and then after I'd been on 125 mcg of synthroid for a few weeks. It's amazing. My face looks like I lost 20 pounds, and it was all puffiness and swelling from the lack of thyroid. -
Im on levothyroxine, the side effects are the same pretty much as cymbalta so I dunno what is doing what. I slept a ton the first two days on cymbalta, lost my appetite, and felt sligtly sick to my stomach and headachey. I got the kids off to school and did some light cleaning this morning then hit the bed until 2pm. Woke up feeling like a million bucks, almost normal like before cancer. Didnt have much appetite for dinner but I ate. I called my doctor about the fatigue and he said it was normal and would last a couple of weeks and if I thought I could tolerate it, to stick with it. So thats the plan.
Will getting my thyroid back on track help me lose weight? I start a new work out program on Monday three days a week, yay!
-
It may, Sweet, but doesn't help everyone. I noticed the major change in puffiness, like Katy, and a big change in energy level....which in turn got me exercising hard again which helped me lose the weight. You are doing the right things. You're parsing out what is what and combining it with good food and exercise....it may not come as quickly as it did 20 years ago...or pre-cancer but it will come off and you should feel more energy and more strength. You are doing great.
-
Jeannie, good to hear from you. Bailey, welcome back to reality. SweetP, so glad you are starting to feel better. Love to all. ...Julie -
Movie and Liefie should be getting the party started by now......sure wish I was at THAT pocket party!!!! -
Thanks, everybody, good to be home. I missed my boys!
I am so happy Liefie and Movie are meeting....I want to meet everyone, too!
So....Vegas. Was great to be with our friends and to be on vacation....being off work for some reason other than CANCER!!. We saw the show, Rock of Ages (80s music for us four 80s children lol!) and the Cirque de Soleil show, KA....both awesome in their own ways. I wasn't wild lol....I talk big but am really quite the rule follower lol. And I tire out fairly easily still...My mind wants to go go go! But my body says DONE and I m then DONE for the day. I was pretty bummed that we never got out to Red Rock Canyon....was really looking forward to it.
So now I am concentrating on getting ready for stage II!
-
Your trip sounds awesome Bailey, so glad you had fun!
-
Bailey- So glad you had a great time! How nice. -
Just popping in to say "hi".....hiking today and haven't made lunch yet, so I have to get busy. Movie and liefie...gosh, bet you are having a wonderful time together. Movie....keep your camera with you this time, we both know how Dave tends to wander, and I want photos of the adventures you and liefie get into!!!!!
Have great days ladies....sunshine but frosty cold here today!!! -
I slept great! Towanda! -
Sweetpickle, so happy that you are turning the corner, and that you are feeling much better already. You have suffered enough!
Jeannie, glad things went well for you too, and that FUPA had been taken care of. Have not really studied mine that closely - maybe I should? LOL.
Bailey, sounds as if you had a wonderful time in Vegas. Those Cirque de Soleil shows are spectacular. I saw the one with the Beatles' music - think it is called LOVE - and was blown away. I'm a hippie from the early seventies . . . lol.
Movie and her DH arrived yesterday afternoon. They are so easy to talk too, and we feel like old friends who's known each other for years. Nihahi, your name comes up quite often, and we sorely miss you! She arrived with a huge gift bag, and had brought me a beautiful wool blanket with the Glacier Park markings on it - makes us feel a little closer to you! It is so special to connect with somebody from these threads - we are all sisters indeed with a very unique bond. We've walked this morning, and will be walking some more later today. We were talking so much that the walk went by in a flash - such fun having them here! -
Just popping in to say hello, still doing good and took a long nap this afernoon. Hope everyone is well!
-
love ya sweet.....keep the progress going!
liefie/movie....gosh, I miss being there too!! Enjoy every moment of the get together.
sbe....tomorrow is your talk...right???? Your chosen outfit likely doesn't have much in the way of pockets, so better bring a big tote bag, cause we all want to be there with you!!!!
jeannie....hope each hour is getting better for you!!!! -
ooh, sbe! I will be cheering you on! -
Here is a photo of Suki( and my knees) as we are sitting in Liefie's kitchen.....isn't she beautiful?
It has taken me a day to get her to even come to me........success! -
Love the photos! -
Sbe, good luck on the talk tomorrow. I hope to be able in some way to hear it at some stage. -
Katy- thinking of you today!
Jeannie- hope your pain settles down soon. I also dealt with those constipation issues. Not fun.
Movie/ Liefie- Jealous.
Having a great time with daughter in Virginia. I am not getting much time to be on here. Going to my granddaughters dance class and a pumpkin patch today. -
Katy - rock it! So wish your peanut gallery here could be there....but we are all in your pockets!!
Cherrie - that sounds like a fun day, enjoy!
-
Thanks for the support and good vibes headed toward California today, sisters. I'm looking forward to it (and to getting it over with!).
Maybe it's a good-luck omen--my PS took out my PICC line yesterday. He wanted it out, now that the IV antibiotics are finished, so that it didn't become a source of infection itself. It didn't hurt in the slightest, but it was fascinating to watch that long, white snake being pulled outa my arm! I'm free!
I'll touch base later, after the conference. Love to everyone--Katy -
Good luck today Katy, I know you will be amazing! Congrats on getting the picc line out.

Aaahhhhhgghhhh.....I am having a hard time today with the incidentaloma lurking in my chest. Is it gone? Is it growing? Is it spreading? Is it nothing? Is it everything? Should I eat this or that? What chemo / treatment would be next? Much ado about nothing? Walking through the grocery store thinking I am thinking about finding the mini sweet peppers I want and realizing a small piece of my mind is chanting,"Tykerb" over and over and over (it's a drug for HER2+ cancer). I want it to be December so I can have the next scan.....but I refuse to wish my life away.
Peace.....prayers for peace, please. And thank you for being here. These are things I'd likely keep to myself. I don't want to burden anyone....especially with the "scares" that turn out to be nothing...and the roller coaster rolls on with "cancer radio" blaring from the speakers...methinks tonight may be an ativan night! Shut that $h!t down!!!
Sbel....how did it go today? I am sure you were made of awesome! Very proud of you, sista!
-
Oh, Bailey, I'm sorry! I wish I had the right words to lift you up and give you peace. I can pray for you and I will. Please know we are all here for you, to listen and to support you. You have been such a blessing to us.
