Biopsy today
Hi ladies,
Had a biopsy today for an enlarged lymphnode same side as my bc in 1995. I was trying to be fine with it all but since I had a core needle 16 months ago I was quite stressed. According to the radiologist MANY things can cause lymphnode to get bigger and lots of those things are not related to cancer.
Once of the things he mentioned was scarring from having radiation? Has anyone ever heard of this? He also said lymphnodes can go up and down sometimes for no reason but because of my history and the fact it increased slightly in size over 3 months they have to biopsy.
Thanks ladies...
Cindy

Please do not feel alone. We are all here to support you. I hope you were able to get some rest last night. Praying that you get B9 results.

You are not alone - we're all here for you. The waiting is so hard, but I'll be thinking about you and hoping for good results.

Cindee ... thinking of you and hoping you're feeling okay.
My understanding is that lymph nodes can be enlarged for lots of reasons, not cancer related. I've got everything crossed for your benign results.
hugs,
Bren

Cinde..... Big cyber hug coming your way. Yes radiation does all kind of strange things. It can cause swelling and or lymphaedema because the lymphnodes may not do their job any more qnd fluid could build up. Have you had any surgery or biopsies? Whats your favorite wind down drink? Go have 2. Dont google anything because the internet is a dark place with bad info. Go to youtube and listen to meditation music or old southern hymms, whatever reaxes you. Please let us know how it goes.

I hope it all turns out OK. The big lymph node could be any number of things; fingers crossed that it's something benign! -
Hi Melmcbee,
Thanks for the response. Dx 1995 with DCIS. Yes I had a biopsy last year June 2012 B9. However they monitored that area of concern for a year and it never changed. I have been having an annoying achey feeling in my left breast the one I had BC in and the one they biopsied last year for about 6 months this is the one with the enlarged lymphnode. This may sound bizarre but I stopped wearing my underwire bra about a week ago and the discomfort has subsided 100%. Just wondered if the wire was irritating scar tissue from lumpectomy, radiation or core needle biopsy last year.....? Anyways so nice not to have that ache all day and tenderness. That's about all I can say for now. The other thing I had about 10 years ago was a pretty severe injury to the same breast. Running up stairs with a roll of xmas wrap and it got caught in the stair railing but my breast and me kept running.....very painful.
So who knows what this is all about. I did see a breast surgeon 3 months ago when this "probably benign" area appeared in late May, 2013 and at that time radiology recommended 3 month follow-up or biospy. Surgeon recommended follow-up not biopsy so followed his advice. Reason for biopsy last week this " probably benign" are increased from 4mm to 9mm. Radiologist said because of my history they have to check it out make sure it is nothing.
I am confused and terrified of course. I know I have alot of scar tissue because I have keloids which means I scar very badly. Cindy
