Ladies - I don't have LE, but was given this info by a Certified LE specialist - I have no idea if this is helpful info or not, but thought I would pass it on.

It's a free app for your iPhone that lets you locate Certified Lymphatic Therapists.

Well, it was created by Jane Armer, and she references the ACS LE page, which has some inaccuracies, although they've changed it.

Unfortunately, it's tied into LANA, and only a minority of qualified CLT's are LANA certified--which is an additional paper test ( at $400) that they now can take as soon as they take the course, and historically, only about 40 or so therapists a year have taken it for the last number of years. Currently, since they removed the one year of clinical experience, there is a big push to take the test, but I'm not sure if the number taking it even hit 100.

So, the LE information is what the ACS puts out, and the minority of therapists are LANA certified. But, that said, it's a start.

A better place to look for all trained lymphedema therapists is the site below, which links to the four therapist training schools that offer 135 hours of training beyond the PT or OT certification. For two of the schools you can access their graduate lists directly, for the other two you enter your zip code and they get back to you promptly with the names and contact numbers of their graduates in your area. All of them list graduates in other countries besides the U.S., so the usefulness of this listing is wide-ranging.

The StepUp-SpeakOut site offers further information about how to find fully-trained lymphedema therapists, what questions to ask them before seeing them, and what to expect from lymphedema treatment:

An adequately trained, experienced therapist is a real treasure. If you have a good one, be sure to express your gratitude to themSmile--it's a thankless job!

    Be well!
