It's final chemo Friday! Very anxious as the SEs are starting to build up. ...but this is the last one!

Questions about the transition to Herceptin only:

1. How long did it take you to feel relief from TC and begin to feel better (fatigue is my real problem)?

2. How long to get relief from neuropathy? I have a miserable and almost constant, visible to everyone, eye twitch and dead toes.

3. How do you feel on just Herceptin? SEs? I want the fatigue to clear up.

4. Radiation SEs? I start radiation on 10/21 for 25 txs.

Thanks for any insight!

It's final chemo Friday!!! I am almost there....

Congrats on this being your last chemo! I'm 5 weeks pfc (TCH) and am starting to feel better. My energy has improved over the last 10 days or so  - I'll feel good for a couple of days and then be wiped out for a day. I just rest when I need to. After my last chemo, I would get short of breath just walking to my car in the parking lot. I noticed yesterday that I wasn't even winded after climbing a long stairway! So things do get better!

I also have some neuropathy....numb fingers and toes. They have not improved much yet and I've been told it could take 6 months or more before it goes away - so I'm trying to be patient!

I have had some bruising (blood work is good) since chemo that I didn't have before. Doc just shrugged his shoulders but I've heard from other ladies on this board that they have had the same problem. Also lost my first toenail (thanks to Taxotere) this week - hoping to hang on to the rest.

I've had no real SE's from Herceptin (love the stuff - it's our magic bullet) Also have done well with radiation but have only had 10 of 33. RO says I may start feeling the effects by the end of next week....soreness of skin and breast with a heavy feeling. So we shall see.

Good luck with moving on to the next phase....believe me I thing the worst is over once you finish chemo. It only gets easier from here.

    Annie
