Mood Swings are Terrible!!

Hello...

I've had my surgery (lumpectomy) and am getting ready for radiation next week.

I've been really  moody lately. One moment I'm really depressed about everything and then the next I'm ok. It's driving me crazy.

Has anyone else had these swings before they started radiation?

Thanks

Kirsty

I definitely had a lot of anxiety beforehand.  It's such a foreign and scary thing to do, and hard to imagine until you are doing it.  Once you settle into the routine, it's much easier to handle. My anxiety dissipated and I was actually in a good mood during the time of radiation.  If you post on the rads threads once you get started, you'll get lots of support.  You can even post this on one of those threads or start your own.

Kirsty... are you on Tamoxifen because that sets many of us off when it comes to mood swings... but then yes what ballet12 has suggested is also correct... It's a very difficult time even if you picked your treatment easily...  this is really difficult stuff and most of us have a great deal of anxiety that goes along with it...  Good luck with your treatment and outcome and I hope you are able to find a healthy balance with your moods...  Best, Deirdre
