Kidney cancer?

Options

My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer 14 years ago.  She had chemo and radiation.  She's been feeling nauseous lately and they did a CT scan.  They found a cyst on her kidney as well as a mass (one dr called it a mass, another said shadow on the xrays).  The urologist said that they'll watch it and wanted her back in 6 months.  She told him she had had breast cancer.  Then he changed his tune.  He had read the report but now wants to see the scans and wants her back in a week.  What is the likelihood of cancer returning to her kidney?  I've always heard other breast, bone, brain, liver and lung.  She also has a cyst on her ovary that they're checking out today.  Any insight is appreciated!

I don't know what the chances of metastasis to the kidney are from bc, but does seem as if it may be uncommon. Hopefully, it is not mets. BTW, if it is, it's still bc not kidney cancer. Wishing the best for your mom.

Kidney cancer could be a new primary. Tx for Kidney cancer is generally removal of the entire kidney with the mass .  Chemo doesn't help all that much for primary Kidney cancer. I'd make sure your mom sees the urologist or nephrologist to rule out or in the possibility.

Good luck and feel free to pm me with any questions. I'm currently going through this with my Mom.
