Alcohol use during treatment

Hello everyone,

Just getting ready for my second a/c chemo in 5 days.  My husband and I want to take a long weekend in Minneapolis the weekend following my chemo coming up.  I will ask my dr. about alcohol use.  What is the concensus about alcohol?  One glass of wine?

I didnt feel like drinking alcohol when I was on chemo. I did a/c/t. All I could handle was ice water. I hope you have a great time. Healing hugs

My onc had no problem with an occasional glass of wine, but I never felt like one so I did not drink during chemo - also, had some issues with taste changes so most wine tasted like vinegar.

My onc said 1-2 drinks a week. I had a drink or two on occasion when I felt up to it. Have a great weekend!

My husband and I took an all inclusive Carribean vacation during chemo. I had finished AC and was about half way through Taxol when we were there. I drank quite a bit during that trip and didn't have any problems. I would concur with others that have posted about the taste of wine -it seemed very bitter, so I stuck to mixed drinks and fruity cocktails Enjoy your trip!

Thanks everyone.  I will play it by ear.  Nothing is tasting good right now, so I will see what wine does.
