I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in January 2013. I had a double masectomy and 4 months of chemo. I was Stage 1A with no lymph nodes affected. I finished chemo at the end of may and have felt great! On Sunday my stomach started hurting. I have a lot of gas, pain, fullness and problems going to the bathroom. I also noticed a very tender sore spot under my rib cage on my right side. I realized this is where my liver is and it got me concerned. It is not an aching pain and is not constant and it only hurts when I touch it or move a certain way. I went to the dr and she felt around and she said the spot that is tender is not where my liver is and is more consistent with a muscle. I also suffer from fibromyalgia so she thinks it could be from that. She thinks I may have a stomach bug that flared up my stomach muscles and rib cage. This probably is true because I get flare ups when I get sick or hurt an area. But I still stress out over any ache and pain! I see my breast surges on Monday so I will mention it to her too. The stomach pains are getting better each day so I am hoping what she said is true!

lmcclure - it really sucks that we now stress over every ache and pain that we feel. Our minds automatically go to that dark place and we think is cancer related. However, it could be anything from a flu bug to constipation to gall stones. It is reassuring that your dr has confirmed that it is not your liver and that the pain is lessening. Hoping that your bs confirms that it is muscle related.

    Keep us posted.

I hope this is helpful but when my mom's liver mets were discovered, she had no pain at all except some kind of almost phantom pain in her shoulder.  I think that is the case with lots of people who have liver mets.  So it is very possible that what you are going through is totally unrelated to your previous breast cancer.

Thank you for the advice on liver mets. I also read that most people have no symptoms. I just want this anxiety to go away! I am four months post chemo and I stress about it coming back!!

I just had an ultrasound today for this same problem. It started feeling like a 'stitch' like pain under my right ribs and extended around my back a bit. My symptoms are basically the same as yours. The bloating is crazy! I have acid reflux, no wonder with all the stress since early this year, which could also be the cause of the problem. I'll let you know the results when I get them from my oncologist (about a week from now). I hear you loud and clear though.....if I as much sneeze I assume it's mets or a reoccurance! Hang in there Cool I'm sure that both of us are just stressing large right now and it's being taken out on our poor tummies.
