Will Anyone Share their Story with Me?

I have grown up with breast cancer around me for as long as I can remember. My friend's mom had lost her battle to cancer recently, despite her masectomies. Even more recently I've learned of several classmates whos' own mothers had breast cancer.

Stroke, heart disease, diabetes have all run through my family. But as a 22 year old young woman, I am grateful every day that the women (and men) in my family have been able to avoid breast cancer.

I do need help though. I want to understand breast cancer, but more importantly, I want to be able to share share someone else's story. I am not here to invade anyone's privacy or to self promote. I am here as a student, seeking help. I want to do a story on masectomies. This will be a video project, a website and a written piece as well. This is my last semester at  Stony Brook University, and my idea of the concept was triggered by the Scar Project.

I am located in Long Island and I want to profile women who are considering or have gone through masectomies. I need someone to be able to be comfortable on camera, and have me interview them in person. Again, this is for a class, but this can really be a way to help further spread awareness of Breast Cancer.

There are higher incidence rates of BC on Long Island than there is on the rest of New York state, so if anyone, anyone at all can help me, it would be so greatly appreciated. All I am trying to do is share the story visually, I just need someone to open up to me. Please? Please private message me to further discuss details.
