Concerned for my mom (re: lab results)
hello everyone! my mom had breast cancer in Aug 2008 - she is in remission. It's been 5 years. It was stage 3a - grade 1 - 1.8 cm tunor - had mastectomy - chemo and radiation. she is ER+ Her+ and had 6 lymph nodes positive out of 21 removed.
Due to chemo - her heart was damaged (Adriamycin caused it) - so she is diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and has been managing it (she got ICD placed).
Her lab results have been in normal until now. She just got blood work done this week because she has appointment next week with her Oncologist. I saw her results and I am concerned about few things. Can someone shed light on it? I know I can discuss this with her Onc but I have been worried sick for her. Lately she has been feeling tired a lot.
Here are the results I am concerned with:
Eosinophils %, Automated Count - 1.7 ( it was 5.0 and above previous times)
Eosinophils, Automated Count - 0.1
Monos %, Auto - 3.3 ( it was 7 and above previous times)
Monocytes, Auto - 0.2
Neutrophils %, Automated - 60.0 ( it has been steadily increasing 56 to 60)
Vit B 12 - 462 (was greater than 2000 in 2008)
Ferritiin - 67 ( was 448.6 in 2008)
Bilirubin - 0.9 ( 0.5 and 0.6 previously)
Alkaline Phosphatase - 75 ( has been steadily increasing 58, 61, 71 previous times)
Her CBC with Differential - all is in normal range
WBC's Auto - 6.5 ( has been in that range)
RBC's Auto - 4.13 ( has been between 4.30 to 4.02 previously)
Do I need to be concerned? I am really worried that something is wrong. Could it be METS?
Please help if you can. She has been experiencing joint/bone pain but we are attributing it to her Arthritis. She has had one knee replacement surgery. She got bone scan last year - and it was clear.
Thank you in advance.

Here are some values to make a comparison with. Her fatigue may be due more to her CHF than anything these labs are showing. Also, keep in mind lab values can be different on any given day.
Normal Results
- Neutrophils: 40% to 60%
- Lymphocytes: 20% to 40%
- Monocytes: 2% to 8%
- Eosinophils: 1% to 4%
- Basophils: 0.5% to 1%
- Band (young neutrophil): 0% to 3%
For the B12 here is the info:
Normal Results
Normal values are 200 - 900 pg/mL (picograms per milliliter).
Ferritin:
Normal Results
- Male: 12-300 ng/mL
- Female: 12-150 ng/mL
Bilirubin:
Normal results for a typical bilirubin test are 0.1 to 1 milligram per deciliter (mg/dL)
Alkaline phosphatase:
25-100 units per liter (U/L) or 0.43-1.70 microkat/liter (mckat/L)

Hi np312, I can't help with all of her results but I did notice that her B12 and Ferritin are way down........those two alone can account for your mom being tired a lot.
I would recommend you have a talk to her doc at the appointment.
Love n hugs. Chrissy -
Thank you specialk and chrissy
