Very scared

Hello, I had a pet scan and bone scan last week and was just told that there was something suspicious in my head on the bone scan. I am scheduled for a brain MRI tomorrow. I am freaking out. Anyone ever have false bone scans. Thanks for your help.
-
Bone scans are sensitive but non-specific, hence why they will be doing the MRI....it can be something else.

Hi Lori
Deep breath and hold on.
Have a look at the posts by ChrissB. She has helped so many people consider other possibilities than cancer.
I had a false positive bone scan in 2011. The radiotracer had a minute amount of take-up on T4 (thoracic bone number 4). After a repeat scan six months later, the onc decided that it was natural bone repair!
Then I had an eye and brain MRI scan in 2013. The tech who did the scan told me he could see metal in my head. I was terrified.
Then the ophthalmologist read the scan. Turned out it was just my fillings!
Hoping for similar experiences for you.
Best wishes
Alice

Thank you, I wasn't able to have MRI because I currently have an expander. I had a ct scan on Thursday and was told today that everything looks normal. The anxiety has been awful, I need to learn some coping skills to handle everything. Thank you again for your kind words!!!

Lori:
Glad to hear everything is normal. Just wanted to say that once you learn those coping skills, please - if you sell the secret for just a dollar to each of us, you''ll be a millionaire in no time flat! I'm triple neg, looking forward to hitting the five year mark this coming February, and my coping skills, when any type of test is called for, are absolutely nil.
Be well,
Linda

Ain't that the truth!!!! LRM216...did you know that having made the 5 year mark NED for triple negative means that your chances of recurrance have plummeted? Not so much for us positive hormonal girls! But do any of us stop worrying? Every time I think of doing something with a long term committment I end up adding the "tag"...if I live that long. Glad Lori that your test came out good.....crikey, it scares me waiting for that phone to ring or not, so decided not to do any blood tests. It's my one freakish flaw. (((HUGS)))) to everyone!!!

I'm glad to have found this post. I saw my Oncologist today who is sending me for an ultrasound due a lump in my reconstruction.
