I haven't posted a new post in a while, I've been attempting to put as much of this behind me as I can.  But just when I get some peace the bottom drops out.  I have been having a lot of pain in the node area under both arms, but predominetly the cancer side.  Feels like little pepples in there, some tugging and pulling a bit too much like during my initial dx for my liking.  Also over the past 2 weeks have noticed a bulge form on the right side of my abdomen.  I've had it before and it causes some discomfort but then goes away.  This time not, and it's become bloated over the past few days.  I have various other symptoms, but wont' get in to all of them now.  I'm just REALLY worried this could be signs of a reccurence.  Anyone out there experience any of this or have some great advice?  I'm due to see my new BS August 28 but I don't know if I want to wait that long.

Thanks Sistahs,

Love,

Sharon

    Sharon,

Do you see your onc on a regular basis? Have you had tumor markers taken? When were your last scans?

I've had lumps and bumps and pulling and pain that turned out to be nothing and went away. I mean I literally had a lump that I was sure was a tumor - but it went away and never came back.

If I were you I'd make an appointment with a med. onc. and see about getting scans done. For your own peace of mind.

Thanks ladies.  Off to the onc soon, athough it's her nurse I'm seeing, she's off today.  This just sucks but there's no way around it.  I just have to dive in and find out what's what.

    Will update later.

    Hi girls,

So the tech and the radiologist said neither one could see anything!  I will take it for what it is, and I sure am relieved, but there is pain there none the less, and with all the issues they had diagnosing me I'm VERY gun shy.  They (not where I was today) missed 13 out of 15 positive nodes with extra capular extension for goodness sakes.  I'm wondering if I need a lymphatic massage.  Think I'll start a new thread.  Also I'll still be seeing my new BS next week, so I'll get her spin on it.  I just wish this was all a cut and dry issue.  Too many grey areas.  YUCK!

Love you all and thanks for following up Jenny!!!!

Hi Sharon I get what you are dealing with.  I too, have lately been feeling lumpy nodule-like growths under my Tram side breast mound.  Lots of discomfort lately and concern over what this lumpy node like things are.  All around the perimeter where the breast cancer was scooped out. And under the arms  I feel the same thing.  lumpy hard nodule and slightly painful..Just wondering if the is a progression rearing it's ugly head or scar tissue around the area where nodes were removed. I'm thinking of letting it go a few more weeks with my onc visit coming up.

I worry about everything in these areas with obvious physical issuesUndecided

    Hi Barb!

Sorry you are going down this road too.  You would think by now we might be able to shove it aside, but as we know it's not possible (at least for me) to ignore stuff like this.  I rested a bit easier last night, but the stuff is still there plus some other issues.  I'm just looking forward to seeing the new doc next week and getting a fresh perspective.  I wish there was a "this is your new normal" handbook that explained how everything should look, feel, when to worry, etc, but since medicine and cancer is so unique I guess that's asking a bit much.

Trust your gut though, and if it's stressing you out go get it looked at.  I can't believe how much I interalized it until after the ultrasound.  Sheesh.....

    Love,

    Sharon

Thanks Hope although I still am having multiple issues that are starting to scare me.  In a nutshell these are the three major areas that I'm having---pain under arm areas, swelling in right upper abdomen with extreme discomfort, and my heart palpitations have taken off; especially at night.  The cardiologist put me on a monitor yesterday and I'll need to drop it off Monday.  We'll see how that turns out.  Been an ongoing issues even before BC.  I'll be seeing the new doc Wednesday and if she doesn't suggest it. I am going to ask for blood work.  Haven't had a full panel done in a while and maybe it might give us some insight.

Wish me luck for some sleep tonight girls.  I worry about driving when I'm exhausted.

    Take care,

    Sharon

Hi Sharon, Jut reading this and am sorry you are going through this crap. I too still have pulling, and pain issues in the axilla area( and its' 8 yrs now) I had 14 nodes removed and I see you had multiple nodes removed too, so that means the surgeons  did a pretty large & deep dissection of the area, which equates to scarring and residual discomfort.Incidentally,  I also see they didn't pick up your nodes initially, Me too. I had extraencapsulated nodes, with total tumor replacement of my sentinel and Axillary nodes, total of 12 pos  and nothing showed on my PET. I have since  learned  , that this is pretty common. frequent times nodes do not show on PETs or CT scans. Live and learn

Anyway, getting a full chem panel would be good. There are a slew of other issues that are non related to  BC! and these metabolioc profiles can be very telling.  Palpitations are increased with anxiety, and your lack of sleep , you need some repreive.

Please get a good physical exam and review of your labs. Get an answer of what's going on. I wish you the best!

Thanks so much Linda, I sure can use those words of encouragement.  Will be seeing new BS today so I'll post later what she has to say.

    Take care,
