I was wondering how long you have pain after a mastectomy as mine was 1yr ago and 3 yrs previous a lumpectomy/rads.I have friends who seem to be over it and i am not moving on.After waking i am in pain on m,y left side and during  the day feels stuck down.Has anyone else felt like this after 1yr on.

I always say talk to u'r Dr. but I still have occasional discomfort not pain, like a feeling of a pulled muscle or a stabbing feeling, one side more than the other. I do get what I call phantom pains like a breast or nipple was there and it hurts for a bit. I don't get this every day so it's just what it is. But u never know when u had u'r operation if a nerve was involved or scar tissure can cause hurt too. I'm sorry I didn't even say Hi to you. I just dove right into the subject---

I have a few questions for you before I comment if you don't mind.

1. Did you have reconstruction?

2. Did you have any lymph nodes removed?

3. Can you describe exactly what your pain feels like? The more descriptive the better like shooting pain, zaps,      burning, sensations, skin hypersensitivity, a feeling of swelling, aching, etc.
