Pain in pelvis from shoes with heels?

My first symptom of bone mets was a "pain in my butt" but it turned out to be in my pelvis. Since then, I bought a pair of Dansko's which felt great on my feet but cause an ache in my pelvis. I've attributed it to them having a heel (I usually wear flat shoes). Now I want to wear a pair of sandals with heels to a wedding but even wearing them for a short time, I think I feel an ache in the front of my pelvis. Does anyone else have experience with this?

Hmm, surprised about the Dansko's. Although they are elevated by the sole of the clog, they keep your whole foot at the same level so shouldn't cause your pelvis to tilt. I have no experience, though I find wearing heels to be more difficult as I age. If it's the tilting of the pelvis that bothers you, how about some dressy flat sandals?

Danskos gave me pain in calves. Do you feel better in sneeks?

I love Dansko's. They are practically all I wear anymore. I have lot of difficulty with neuropathy in hands and feet. The Dansko's allow me to walk for long periods which I really could not do before I started to wear them.

As a first grade teacher, I'm on my feet all day and these have not only saved my feet but my back as well. Whenever I'm at the infusion center, the nurses and I compare styles and colors. For work, I favor the closed back professional model, which now comes in a multitude of materials, colors and prints. No, they won't work for everyone but huge numbers of teachers, nurses and doctors must be on to something!

Have you seen an orthopedic surgeon? I would recommend adding one to your medical team. My onc. blew off most of my pelvis/hip concerns...5 months later=hip replacement.

This is not to scare, but to make you aware that we need more than one medical professional with bone mets, IMO.

Danskos are awesome shoes and should not cause this problem.

    Good luck!

It's not just about the style, but it is also about making sure you're getting the right shoe. We have people here who know how to fit shoes men's orthopedic sandals
