BRCA1+,brca & ovca surv. biopsies!!

Hi ladies, 

I have not been on here in some time, BRCA+, ovca 10/99, lumpectomy 7/06, chemo & radiation and past few years, 4-5 biopsies following MRI or mammo, over 60, waiting for biopsy results again. I have been lucky with brca caught early but now that 4-6 breast biopsies in 3 years, worry and anxiety naturally. Maybe this time if cancer, go for bilateral mastectomy, reconstruction. Tired of the biopsy worry (sorry to complain). I know so many have been through so much as have I.  Thoughts?

Hi Phillyborn,

Sorry that you have had so many worries and biopsies. Ouch! I too am BRCA+ and it was strongly recommended that I have bmx. My sister is positive and even though she has not had cancer they are recommending that she have a prophylactic bmx. The mastectomy is one of the easier parts of this cancer journey not to mention the peace of mind. Best of luck in your decision but I know that for me it was a no brainer.
