Is Chemopause Permanent?

I started chemo at the end of May. I had one period in June and that was it. I've had some hot flashes but nothing major. For some reason, I assumed that Chemopause was temporary and things would kick in again when I am finished. I am doing RADS after chemo and was concerned about my hormones acting up during radiation and then getting quelched with tamoxifen when RADS are done. I was concerned about all the fluxuations of hormones in the next few months and how it will be for me.

But now I am researching and seeing that Chemopause can be permanent. I am 41.

What were your experiences with this?

My onc said I might get my period back & I might not... and if I do get it back, it could be in 2 months or 2 years or some other random length of time! So who knows??? I finished chemo in early June. I haven't had a period since April and still have lots of hot flashes. I'm 30 years old. I know there are health benefits to getting it back but my periods were so horrible (especially the very last one!) that I will be happy to never get it again!!
