Question about < 1% ER +

I am going through rads right now and since I have read my pathology report this has been bugging me a bit. I will be seeing my MO in a couple of weeks and will discuss it with her then, but has anyone been offered hormone treatment with a very small (less than 1%) ER+? I'm just wondering if this may help prevent recurrence.

I had the same results except mine was less than 1% for Her2.  When I saw my pathology report after visiting the doctor I thought wow they made a mistake, and I am not actually TN so I can take a hormone treatment.  I called my doctor's office the very next day, and unfortunately found out that being that low I was still considered TN. 

I still think about this at times especially the comment beside it read slightly favorable.

I am 3 percent er positive and my doc believes in hormone therapy for any percentage. I have tried and did not tolerate it well. My doc retired and now I see my new doc for the first time tomorrow and will ask her what she thinks. I may have to try it again. Also, I read somewhere and I am sorry I don't remember where, but some believe anti hormone therapy can benefit triple neg as well. I had a horrible time on aromasin and tamoxifen, so I am not sure I will try it again without solid proof that it helps.

Thanks ladies, I'm already pretty sure my MO will say that because its so low-no hormonal therapy, but I can't help thinking if there is even a slight chance being on something that may prevent recurrence (with such an aggressive C) isn't it worth it or are SE that bad that it ruins quality of life.

Depends on which SE' s you get! I took tamoxifen for 4 years - the worst was the leg cramps during the night, but the vaginal discharge was also annoying. Not deal breakers.



Now I'm only 2% ER+ and my MO says TN. That was quite a surprise to me...

Tamoxifen can have very serious se's, though. Uterine cancer being a biggie. In the past 4 years, my gyn has done 2 culposcopies and a uterine biopsy on me due to "unusual cells" on my Pap smears. All very unpleasant experiences. Serious consultation with your drs is in order.

I am a bit confused about my mom's diagnosis and if she is triple negative or not. Her HER2 came back at a 1.8 which is not negative or positive. But from what I read, she won't qualify for Herceptin. Is she considered trip neg then?
