I dont know where to start other than my wife had breast cancer 10 years ago and now it is back with a vengence as her breast cancer has spread to her liver, ribs, spine and abdomen wall.  I am trying to stay strong and cope with this and making sure she is taken care of at all times.  Just looking for suggestions, chat or whatever on how to continue staying strong and handling this tough time in our life.

mywifeconnie, I am so sorry that your wife has to battle this beast again but just wanted to commend you for being so supportive. Hold her when she needs to cry and be good to yourself as well...sending heartfelt hugs and prayers for you both.

There is a binding connection between us all as we hold the hands of those we love and have to helplessly watch them fading. While going through this with my Mom people kept telling me to make sure I took care of myself - Eat right (yeah okay), get sleep (I am still not sleeping), take time for yourself (all I wanted was to be at her side). If I had any suggestion it would be to be honest, completely honest; with her, with yourself. Honor her, honor the love you share. Help her build the bridge. Cry, laugh, and embrace the moments, each one is a gift. Be gentle and non-judgmental with yourself in the array of feelings that come and go.

Physically I did what I could which was a lot of deep breathing (a lot) and kept myself hydrated. If people would ask what they could do I would tell them. I wasn't shy.

I feel your pain and fear, and am sending you light and blessings. You can do this.

A lot has changed in the battle against cancer in the last 10 years. Don't get scared over internet statics on cancer fatality; for the most part they are based on old data. New treatment methods are coming up every day. My wife had stage 4 cancer and after treatments of A-C she's cleared (for now).
