Doctors who accept Medicare for Reconstruction

I am distraught because I have been rejected by Dr. Massey and NOLA for reconstruction because they no longer accept Medicare.  I am 67 with no alternative for my primary insurance.  I had no idea Medicare was not readily accepted, especially when coupled with good gap insurance (which I have).  I am seeking a DIEP reconstruction and Dr. Massey and the doctors at NOLA are the only doctors I have read about that appear to have a lot of experience with this procedure.  PLEASE post if you have knowledge of, or have had reconstruction by, any doctor who is considered excellent for DIEP reconstructions AND who accepts Medicare.  If you are not sure about their acceptance of Medicare, please post their name, if you were pleased with the results of your DIEP reconstruction, and I will contact them regarding their insurance requirements.  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE ....  any guidance will be most appreciated.  I am not a candidate for implants, so it must be a doctor who performs DIEP reconstructions.  Hoping for a post.

I'm sorry I don't have a specific name but have you tried some of the NCI accredited cancer centers........MD Anderson in Houston comes to mind. They would be more likely to accept Medicare than a private for profit group.

Thanks Ladies!!!!!  I found Drs. Kline and Craigie in Charleston who take Medicare.  Thanks to all.

I was fortunate to have worked in a medical school for a surgeon 25 years earlier. He contacted a world reknowned college who did my TRAM as a gift.

Check into any surgeon's experience very carefully. You want someone that does these every day and could do it blindfolded.
