Cyst Found after Double Masctomy and Breast Recon

This is my fourth year out from all the surgeries, now on Aromasin.  I just had my ultrasound done and they found a cyst on my left breast.  Before mastectomy, my left breast didn't show anything on xrays which went undetected until I ultimately wanted to have my breasts out because my right breast showed invasive cancer.  The left breast showed a lot of cells identifying it as DCIS.  I was put on Tamoxifen and am now on Aromasin.

The radiologist and oncologist do not seem to be concerned but wants me to return in 6 months for another ultrasound.  My onc said that if it was something to be concerned about, they would have ordered tests.  Still-this has gotten me very worried and I am afraid.  Those intense feelings are coming back again and I hate it.

Friday, I will be seeing my breast surgeon who and hope to get more answers.  I think the only answer I can get right now is to have needle aspiration done.

Anyone had cysts after mastectomy and breast recon?  Oh, and I did have fat grafting done also to my left breast.  My stubborn breast had given me problems not accepting the implant once before so I had to take it out, waited for several months, then put anther one back in.
I am very scared - I need someone to talk to.

lam, cysts are very common after breast surgery & recon.  I had them, discovered when I found a lump that turned out to be fat necrosis, which is another common benign thing that can happen after recon.  It's also very normal to have all those bad feelings resurface (PTSD) when something like that happens, because it so strongly evokes what we went through when were diagnosed.

So sorry you're going through this, but what I've found is that once we've had bc, anything even the least bit suspiscious is taken very seriously and explored.  So since neither your onc nor the radiologist are concerned, I wouldn't be either.   (((Hugs)))   Deanna

    Deanna,

I am a wreck trying to be optimistic and strong.  You'd think that after having mastectomy, we'd be done with those lumps and bumps because supposedly there is almost nothing left to show.  For the most part, I'm okay - but those moments come trickling back as a reminder and it sucks.  Thank you for your support and understanding.  It's very comforting to hear what others have experienced.  (((BIG HUGS BACK)))  Iam
