Post Chemo Cognitive Disorder and Employment

I am 10 months past my last chemo and still wrangling with reconstruction issues. But more importantly, I am really struggling with cognitive issues. My onc diagnosed it as Post Chemo Cognitive Disorder and referred me to a psychiatrist to discuss taking a stimulant.

It is a particular issue at work and becoming more so every day. I've tried to cover it up and compensate, but apparently I've been doing a poor job. I'm concerned I'm about to lose my job which would mean losing my insurance. A very very bad thing.

The psychiatrist I saw was less than helpful, even inferring that she wasn't sure such a disorder existed. She gave me a script for Strattera, which is not what my onc said I needed (it's not a stimulant). Tomorrow, I will reach out for a 2nd opinion.

My condition is now very well documented; but I'm still confident my employer could let me go even under the guise of downsizing.

Anyone else had PCCD so badly they had to seek medical treatment for it?  Waiting 4 years for it to pass just isn't an option.

Looking forward to your feedback!
