I need to have blood drawn at a different clinic tomorrow, so I called the lab to make sure they were aware that I am a foot draw. I talked to the lady and let her know, foot draw only because I have lymphedema in both arms and that there are no needles or bps in either arm. She explained that they could take a finger prick and use a very small needle. I told her the size of the needle is not the issue. It simply breaking the skin itself. I told her a mosquito bite could cause a Lymphedema flare up.

They said they couldn't do it without the doctor's orders. So I called the pulmonogolist's office. The person who I talked with said she could see if it could be done. I told her that if it is not a foot draw (and told her why...the whole LE schpeel) it will not be done. A few hours later, they called back and said yes, it was approved.

I have a call out to my doctor's nurse to see if my primary doctor can put a standing order in my records that there  is foot draws only for blood samples.

My partner, Brian, keeps asking me why I have to do everyone else job's,lol. Between labs, doctors, nurses and insurance screw ups, I am on the phone a lot straightening things out. I am the one who is supposed to be disabled with memory, concentration, cognitive impairments (to name a few reasons, there are more).

Even my family doctor can't figure out why I have so many problems. But the more I see, the more problems, you know?

I am just getting tired of medical professionals continuing to argue with me about LE and needles.

Oh Cinnamon Im sorry! So sorry you having this drama again. HUGS. Please don't worry about unloading as Im sure its one of the reasons these forums exist. I could write every single thing you have in your post for myself except my GP is wonderful but there are times where youre doing hospital stuff where theyre not involved as such.

Good on you for ringing before hand. I hope all goes well for this. Let us know.
